"Stick" Bowls
Bowls are where Jim started when developing his "Stick" pieces. He wanted to work with woods such as lilac, staghorn sumac and wild juniper but they did not grow large enough to be worked with the ring method. When he squared the sticks and glued them together, new patterns emerged which lead to his "stick" turnings becoming his signature work.
