"Stick" Bowls & Vases
With ease, Jim made the leap from making bowls out of boards to making them out of sticks. Living in the tree covered Hills of Mulmur Township in Southern Ontario, Jim found his raw materials right outside his back door. The sticks were there for the taking. The branches covered the forest floor and using them meant that no tree need be cut down to provide material for bowls. This suited Jim's recycling and environmental policies to a T.

Personalize Your Piece
If you place an order for a bowl from Jim's studio he will personalize it for you with your own short message. This is included in the price. (Prices are discussed on the pages for each type of "stick" bowl.)
Jim names all his pieces. He adds his personal JL mark and two numbers which represent the month and year that the piece was made. He also adds the wood used and puts on his name and studio location. There is usually plenty of room for a short message. If you choose to do this he will ask you for a brief description about the person or event for which the bowl is intended. This helps him come up with a meaningful name for the bowl.
He can also let you know what woods he has on hand and you can pick the one that suites you. If he is going to make a bowl or vase for you, please allow about a month for the piece to be completed and ready for shipping once he starts to work on it. Jim's studio is very busy now that his pieces have gained popularity. His lead times range from 2 to 6 months depending on the time of year.
Jim enjoys working with his customers to produce that uniquely personal piece that will be treasured for years to come.
Please contact Jim if you would like to go over the possibilities.
